Why Were The Present Time Androids Stronger?

Going by GT logic though, it seemed android 17 had kept his power intact as did 18. Their power was out dated by GT, but they were still powerful.
GT logic.....ugh.

Same logic that says Android 17 and 18 have ki, when it's explicitly stated that they don't have any in the manga.

 Even if we don't go by GT logic, was Android 18 any weaker in the Buu Saga than she was in the Cell Saga. I know it is only 7 years in the future, but I think that could give us a sense.

She might be a bit weaker, and she might not be, however we have to consider that Future Android 18 didn't receive maintenance for nearly 3 times the amount of years that Android 18 didn't.

 The statement where Trunks says their stronger should be taken as face value as AT has horrible memory and wouldn't remember he just had the future ones suppressed.

 I always say the present ones are less suppressed both in power and human emotion than the future ones because of Trunks and Cell. They bent reality and by doing so Gero made 19,16, and turned himself into and android. In doing so he had less time to spend on the cyborgs 17 and 18 like his future self. That's why they are less bent IMO and much more honorable than the future ones, as well as stronger, they simply weren't experimented on everyday to become so restricted and spiteful

I think it was that Goku and co. got stronger over 3 years and Gero adjusted his calculations to compensate. Future Goku and co. weren't as strong, so 17 &18 didn't need to be stronger.

But Dr Gero didn't know about the SSJ transformation, it seems like the last significant bit of info he gathered to make 16, 17 and 18 was from the Saiyan saga.


can anyone remind at what part of the manga it was mentioned that the androids were repressed?
